don't cry
Onions maybe one of the greatest ingredients ever. So versatile and so flavorful, I use them in anything I can get them into! But we have a love-hate relationship. I love onions, but my eyes hate them. I can hardly cut 1/2 and onion before I'm bawling as if the Food Network had closed down.
What's a girl to do? Usually when it's just one onion, I'd suck it up and just cry until the process was over. But when you're making a dish that requires several onions, I couldn't stand it. I had to find a better way.
At first I attempted to protect my eyes with a scuba mask. It worked okay, but after a few minutes, it'd get foggy and my head would start feeling light and dizzy. Unfortunately, my mom caught me in this unsightly get up... as embarrassing as this is, I wouldn't want you to make the same mistake.
There had to be another answer! And on my birthday it finally arrived. In a cute bag too (thanks Car!) — ONION GOGGLES!!! The most ingenious invention for home cooks! Sure, they may not be the most flattering, but they work. They're designed perfectly. They sit low so that you don't strain your neck looking down at your cutting board (when you look straight ahead you can tell). The foam around the eyes provides comfort and saves you from crying hysterically. Oh and did I mention they come in 4 colors? Mine are pink, oh so stylish.

Haha, that's awesome! Love the picture and your braveness to wear those things...have to say, I think I'd rather cry. :)
